based on the critical theories, particularly on Freire’s concepts of conscientisation, education as transformational process both for students and teachers that leads to the liberation, experiental learning and praxis, this paper proposes the connection between critical pedagogy and music education through establishing the notion critical pedagogy for music education (CPME). Besides theoretical explanation and practical examples of CPME in action, Abrahams explains it on an eight-step teaching model.
